Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On February 6,1984, Mr. N. J. Chiangi notified the NRC (Mr. A. Hardin) of a potentially reportable item per the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and 10CFR, Part 21. The NRC was informed that the flexible coupling drive hubs on the drive shaft in the overspeed governor and fuel transfer pump drive of the Standby Diesel Generator may have a potcntial problem depending upon whether the hubs are found to be loose upon inspection. The inspection procedure from Transamerica Delaval had not been received at that time.
The inspection procedure was received from Transamerica Delaval on February 24,1984.
A field change request has been issued to direct the field to perform the inspection. It is projected that the inspection will be completed by March 30,1984 and ive will reqitire until April 16,1984 to submit a report on the reportability of this item.
