Dear Mr. Price:
First I want to thank you and by copy of this letter thank Congressrnan McMillan for your letter to Congressman McMillan enclosing summary of reports of accidents at Carolina Power &
Light Company's H. B. Robinson Unit 2 nuclear facility that occurred near Hartsville.
I am primarily interested in the accident of April 26, 1970, involving the failure of a steam generator pressure relief valve installation which resulted in my client sustaining some loss of hearing.
I am not an engineer and for this reason you may understand why I will not understand all the engineering involvement.
I was wondering if it would be possible for you to furnish me with a copy of the actual inspection findings by your Division of Compliance in regards to this occurrance.
While the summary is helpful I would like a copy of the Westinghouse report and the other reports which may have been submitted by B. F.
Shaw, South-west Research Institute and others.
I will also need copies of any reports pertaining to the pressure relief vavlue which I assume was installed to prevent such an occurrance.
We will certainly be grateful to you in regards to any information you can give us on these questions.
