SUMMARY

MONTH: ' September 1991 Catawba Unit 1 began the month of September oporating at 100% full power.

The unit operated at or near 100% full power untti 1301 on 09/11/91, when a. reactor trip resulted from a turbine trip on loss-of both main feedwater pumps on hi h discharge pressure. The unit returr.ed on-line 6

at-0328 on 09/13/91, and a power ~ increase was commenced. The unit van held at 20% power from'0605 to 1400 on 09/13/91 for main feedwater

- regulation valve maintenance, and at 51% power from 2115 to 2359 on 09/13/91 for nuclear instrumentation calibration. 'The unit reached 100% full power at 0410 on 09/14/91, and operated at or near 100% full

- power for.the remainoer of the. month.

SUMMARY

MONTH:

September 1991 Catawba Unit 2 begna the month of September operating at 100% full power.

The unit operated at or ner.r 100% full pvwer until 0530 on 09/12/91, when a unit shutdown was commenced due to the inoperablity of emergancy diesal generator

'2A'.

The unit was taken off-line at 1754 on 09/12/91. The unit returned on line at 2343 on 09/22/91.

The unit was held at 13% power from 2343 on 09/21/91 to 0346 on 09/23/91 due to steam generator containment isolation bypass valve repairs. During the subsequent power increaso, the unit was held at 53% power from 1325 on 09/23/91 to 0140 on 09/24/91 to investigate a problem with main feedwater pump '2B' and to replace relays on generator breaker '2B' conttol logic. The unit returned to 100rs full power at 0945 on 09/25/91, and operated at 100% full power for the remainder of the
