The purpose of this letter is to prov'ide you with notificction of and Abnorraal Occurrcnce es required by Technical Specification 6.6.B.I.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence.
Following discovery of abnorr.allties associated with welds on the recirc pu ap dischsrga valve bypz:ss line at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, a total of 22 citailar welds ucre tested on the recirc loops at Quad-Citics Unit 2 One weld ebnorraality was discovered at the upttreata connection of the "3" rccire pcmp discharge valve bypass line (2-02030-4"A) to the "B" recirc pump discharge linc
- (2-020lD-28"A). The abnormality is located between the recire puap and the pu:ap discherge valve.
Repairs to the ucld involved are in progress.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. C. Feierebend of your office on September 16, 1974 Ferther inforrastion will be provided by Abnorr.al Occurrence Report A0 50-265/74-25 which will b sub:nitted within 10 days of the date of this ' occurrence.
