This is in further response to DRO Region II letter R0:II:50-259, 50-260, 50-296, and 50-327, 50-328, dated December 4, 1972, on the subject of Limitorque valve operator failures. This response concerns Sequoyah Nuclear Plant units 1 and 2.

Enclosed is a copy of Westinghouse letter number TVA-3280 which contains a listing of Sequoyah Nuclear Steam Supply System valves which will have their operator torque awitches replaced. It is the intention of Westinghouse to have Limitorque representatives replace the torque switches in all of the SMB-000 and SMB-00 Limitorque operators listed in the enclosure.

For the calance-of-plant, we still cannot supply a list of valves which will have their operator torque switches replaced. Some balance-of-plant system design changes are still being made which will require additional motor-operated valves; and, in addition, some of the motor-operated valves on order have not been delivered.

When the information is available, we will determine which torque switches are to be replaced on balance-of-plant valves. We expect to complete the list and forward to you by January 1, 1974.

l We intend to arrange for representatives of Limitorque Corporation to make any required modifications. -
