Dear Mr. Kruesi:

This is an interim report on the failure of Limitorque operators of suppression pool spray valves FCV-1-Th-72 and FCV-1-74-58 during construction of Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 1.

Initial report of the failure was made on June 4, 1973, by telephone to DRO Inspector W. S. Little.

The subject failure was discovered on May 28, 1973. We are con-tinuing our investigation of the failure and the corrective action to be taken. We expect to submit the final report on this deficiency by July 30, 1973 Ve truly ours, f
