Tne purpose of this letter is to provide you with notification of an Abnormal Occurrence as required by Technical Specification 6.6.B l.a within 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> of the occurrence:
On August 31, 1975, while shutting down the unit, an instability was experienced on the feeddater control system which caused the 3/4 inch drain lines, both upstream and downstrqam of the low flow feed-2 water regulating valve, to sever.
The "B" normal flow regulation valve went fully open and the resultin6 reactor high water level turbine trip scrammed the reactor.
There were no radioactive materials released from the site as a result of this occurrence.
This occurrence was discussed by telephone with Mr. Knop of your office on August 31, 1975 m or information will be provided by Abnormal Occurrence Report 0 50-265MS-3fPwhich will be submitted within 10 days of the date f this occurrence.
