Dear Mr. Muntzing:

Our Committee is concerned about the degree to which non-availability of nuclear power plants may affect power supply in certain parts of the country over the next several months, and wa are also concerned about the reasons for this non-availability.

We utiderstand that a value blow-out at one of the Turkey Point units has resulted in the sending of telegrams j to the owners of several other nearly complete power plants, requiring reanalysis of certain equipment. We would appreciate learning how many plant owners were contacted as a result of the Turkey Point incident, what changes in. design or operating procedures will be made as a result of the reanalyses, and how much delay will be caused by the reanalyses or any changes resulting therefrom.
