Dear Dr. Ray:
I am writing to ask that a thorough investigation and report be made of the incident occurring yesterday, June 11, 1974, involving a radioactive leak at the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station near Cordova, Illinois. I am, as you can understand, greatly concerned, particularly as it is the second accident to occur in the past three months at the Quad Cities plant.
Furthermore, it is my understanding that the Atomic Energy Commission did not notify Illinois state officials of the accident until ap-proximately 8:30 AM, 6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br /> af ter it occurred. I would be interested to learn the reason for this delay in notification.
I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible.
