- 7. PROCEDURE:
1. The CRSP provides the following:
- a. CRSP Sequence, a written progression of control rod movements from All-Rods-In to a given target control rod pattern. A sequence includes the following:
(1) ' Cover Sheet indicating the unit number, cycle number and sequence designation (Attachment A). e Cover Sheet shall contain the following signatures { indicating review / approval of the subject sequence: 1 i Nuclear Engineer (NE) responsible for writing-the sequence. l must sign /date the cover sheet (the author is not required' ! to be a (pfE). A QNE and Lead Nuclear Engineer (IJtE) must then thoroughly , review the sequence and ensure the sequence is written in accordance with DTS 8271. Both must sign /date the cover. sheet as reviewers. Technical Staff Supervisor (TSS), Unit Operating Engineer- . (OE), Assistant Superintendent of Operations (ASO), and Technical Superintendent signatures -are required for final , approval.
, Appropriate designees may be substituted when necessary.
i nozz I l When a fresh (unused) copy of a CRSP Sequence is _ issued, the previous l sequence becomes permanently invalid and must be removed. However, a , l Special CRSP Sequence does not invalidate tl.e current CRSP sequenc eWhen a fresh (unused) copy of a CRSP Sequence is issued, a NE (Nuclear Engineer) shall indicate the current - status of sequence steps by entering one of the following in the appropriate area of the sequence step sign-off: OUT - indicates all control rod (s) for that step are withdrawn to at least the OUT position for that step. No entry (blank) - indicates all control rods for that step I are inserted to at least the IN position for that step. Notch position - IE one or more control rods in the array are not at the same position, or one or more rods in the ' array are not at the IN or OUT position, IEEN the notch ,
. position of each rod will be indicated. . -

; appropriate space.
(2). Index of CRSP Sequence contents (Attachment B). (3) # Caution Sheet (Attachment C) provides the_following: i Informs NSO to review and become familiar with CRSP
-} Sequence prior to its use.
l l
- Notifies NSO for in-Jequence control rod insertions to l confirm status of previously inserted sequence steps by ;
selecting appropriate control rod (s) with rod select pushbutton and Serifying their position.e (W_4) (4) Array Definitions (Attachments D and E) provide a listing l of control rods contained in each array for the BPWS i (Banked Position Withdrawal Sequence) and NFS (Nuclear Fuel ! Services) LPSS methodologies. The appropriate array { definitions is provided. ! l (S) # Control rod maps (Attachment F) show array locations {
, as well @ control rod patterns at the control rod sequence i checkpoint and the LPSS break point. See DTS 8271, '
Guidelines for Control Rod Sequence Development, for quarter-core array maps for BPWS and NFS LPSS array
} designations.* (W-4)
- When sequence checkpint step is reached during either ?
startup or shutdown, the NSO verifies control rod pattern i is consistent with sequence check point pattern. ' When the LPSS break point is reached during either startup ! or shutdown, the NSO verifies control rod pattern is l
. consistent with LPSS break point pattern Alm verifies the I fraction of rated Core Thermal Power (CTP) is greate than 20%.
(6) Control Rod Sequence section (Attachment G) provides a { check sheet for sign-off of individual control rod or array i movement. The sheet also contains a space for documenting Rod Worth Minimiser (RWM) operability or the use of a second sequence verifier (VERIFIER). ;
- Any deviations to control rod sequence must be entered on the Change Log with appropriate approvals. ,

UNIT 2(3)
.IWLP 14-14 REVISION O F. 1. a. (6) Throughout sequence check sheets, NE shall place notes, where appropriate, to alert NSO to special situations.
41 These notes should be self explanatory. A partial list of these notes follows: LPSS break point and control rod sequence checkpoint.
- g. QNE HOLD POINT, this means control rod withdrawal beyond this point in the control rod sequence will not be permitted without consent of a QNE. This consent may be written or verbal and shall be noted in space provided.
Notes governing use of Rod Out Notch Override (RONOR) Switet..
* ]E D] an' individual control rod sequence page becomes cluttered or otherwise unusable, IEt[ it may be replaced by a NE without issuing a new copy of the entire control rod sequence by performing the following: '
Photocopy the desired page from the original CRSP Sequence and enter the current status of the sequence steps as dsscribed above. . Initial and date where appropriate indicating the page is identical to the one being replaced and the status of steps is correct. '
/* * ,, *Have a NE,or Operations Shift Supervisor independe.ntly~ l verify both the page being replaced and the status of control rod sequence steps are correct.* (W-4)
Independent Verifier should then initial and date where appropriate. I Replace the old control rod sequence page with the newly approved control rod sequence page. The NE will retain the old page as a record of control rod movement.
* ) met [ a copy of the CRSP sequence becomes cluttered or otherwise unusable. 2 HEN NSO should contact LNE for a fresh copy. }EEN a CRSP sequence is removed from the Control Room, IEN the NE removing the control rod sequence should initial and date the cover sheet in the space provided.
- Prior to startup following a reactor scram, the word SCRAM should be entered in the IN box of any step that was indicated as OUT at time of SCRAM. Alternatively, a fresh copy of the control rod sequence may be issued.
