Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On June 2,1983, Mr. K. V. Hate' notified the NRC (Mr. A. Hardin) of a potentially reportable item per the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Mr. Hardin was informed that thirty-four (34) Unit No. I backdraf t dampers (Seismic Class I) were received from Ruskin Manufacturing Company with one (1) counterbalance arm assembly in lieu of the required two (2).
On June 29,1983, we stated in our letter NRC-91 that we were awaiting shake test results from Wyle Laboratories in order to complete our evaluation. At that time we requested an extension until August 8,1983 to complete our evaluation and submit a report on the reportability of this item. Since our last report, the test results have been received and we are currently awaiting Ebas:o Services' review and approval of these results expected by August 29,1983. ' herefore, we are requesting an extension until September 12,1983 for submitu.ig a report on the reportability of this item.
