SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO JUNE, 1983 06-01 to 06-04 Unit 2 entered the month operating at a power level of 770 MWe. On the 3rd, the unit was shutdcwn (Rx remained critical) to repair a steam packing leak on a small valve in the x-area.

06-04 to 06-10 Following repair of the valve the unit was returned to power and operated until the 10th when a problem with the #1 CIV developed and the unit was again taken off the line.

06-10 to 06-11 Following repair of the CIV, the unit was returned to service and load was being steadily increased when high vibration caused the main turbine to be tripped and the resultant high flux scrammed the Rx.

06-11 to 06-12 After repair of the turbine vibration instrumentation, the unit was again made critical and brought on the line until the 12th, when a problem with the #3 CIV developed and the unit was taken off the line -- the Rx remained critical.

06-12 to 06-17 After repair of the CIV, the unit was returned to service and operated until the 17th when a nitrogen leak was dis-covered and the unit was manually shutdown and repairs effected.

06-17 to 06-30 The unit was returned to service and was operating on the 20th, when arcing and a resultant fire on the generator collector rings caused a turbine trip and Rx scram. The L.

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE (Continued)

UNIT TWO JUNE, 1983 06-17 to 06-30 unit is still in the shutdown mode and will remain in this (Continued) condition until approximately July 15, 1983. Capacity factor for the month was 35.36% and availability was 46.94%.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT THREE JUNE, 1983 06-01 Unit 3 entered the month operating at a power level of 770 MWe but shortly thereafter a Rx scram occurred because of a failed feedwater reg. valve.

06-02 to 06-04 The valve was repaired and the unit was placed in service and operated until the 4th when a Rx scram occurred because of generator load reject when a 86 device failed.

06-04 to 06-06 The breaker was repaired and the unit was brought on line and operated until the 6th, when the MSIV's went closed and scrammed the Rx because the MSIV jumpers were not properly installed.

06-07 to 06-23 The unit was placed in service and operated until the 23rd when a low water signal caused the Rx to scram. This occurred while testing was being done on breakers and wiring to the breakers.

06-24 to 06-29 The unit was brought on line and operated until the 29th when the Rx scrammed while surveillance testing of the MSL pressure switches was being performed.

06-29 to 06-30 The unit was again placed in service and ended the month operating at a power level of 430 MWe with a capacity factor of 66.05% and an availability of 89.00%.
