Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
This letter is a follow-up to our letter of April 22, 1983 concerning IE Bulletin 81-01.
The April 22 letter informed you of the IEB 81-01 inspection results for safety-related snubbers and provided a final report on this matter.
The April 22, 1983 letter also outlined the corrective actions that South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) would take to resolve the concern.
These corrective actions have been implemented / completed with the exception of adding a special caution in the procedures dealing with snubbers to avoid abusing or mishandling the snubbers.
Review of the existing procedures with the Resident Inspector revealed that these procedures contain adequate precautions; therefore, there is no need to change them.
