On August 2, 1982, Mr. L. E. Jones notified the NRC (Mr. A. Hardin) that the above referenced item was reportable per the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and 10CFR, Part 21. On August 31, 1982, we submitted to your office an interim ,
report on this subject. When preparing the interim report, we anticipated completing all the work associated with the deficiencies by mid December.
Unfortunately, we are not complete with the reinspect ton and rework as a result of the inspection being more comprehensive than originally anticip_:ed. In addition to this, there are several areas throughout the plant which have considerable amounts of congestion which requires more time to perform the rein-spection. For this reason, we would request an extension until October 2, 1983, at which time we will submit a final report.
