Subject:

Crystal River Unit 3 Docket No. 50-302 Operating License No. DPR-72 Crystal River Unit 3 Refueling Outage Schedule

Dear Sir:

This letter confirms discussions with members of your staff concerning the starting date and expected duration for RefuelIV, and establishes the timetable for Refuel V.

The starting date for RefuelIV is scheduled for March 19, 1983.

Planned plant modifications will require a 16-week outage. Therefore, Cycle 5 will begin on or about July 9,1983. Florida Power Corporation will submit the Cycle 5 Reload Report for your review on April 1,1983.

Because of the increased length of RefuelIV, Cycle 5 is scheduled to be an extended length fuel cycle. Therefore, Refuel V is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 1985.

Sincerely, Al G. R. Westafer Manager Nuclear Licensing and Fuel Management TSW:mm cc:
