PROCESS CONTROL PROCEDURE 1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The purpose of this procedure is to provide support to the pro-cess control program for satisfactory solidification of radio-active liquid waste by Chem-Nuclear Services, Inc. (CNSI) at the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Nuclear Facility.

Included herein are references, prerequisites, required radiation surveys, documents, permits, instructions, and a copy of the CNSI Operating Procedure for Process Control of Solidification.

2.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS None 3.0 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Refer to:

Operating Procedure for the CNSI Process Control Program at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility O

4.0 PREREQUISITES 4.1 RWP for the CNSI Solidification Operation inclusive of the process control sampling operation.

4.2 Dosimetry issuance to CNSI Operator.

4.3 Cask Loading Procedure N1-WHP-4.

4.4 Concentrator Analysis Data Sheet completed.

5.0 PROCEDURE FOR REQUIRED SUPPORT OF THE CNSI PROCESS CONTROL PROGRAM DURING SOLIDIFICATION 5.1 Operational Functions 5.1.1 Perform necessary service hookups such as 480 Volt 70 Amp electrical, 100 psi 1 20 plant service air and service water.

5.1.2 Perform required valve lineups for the solidification process.

5.1.3 Provide the CNSI Operator with the Concentrator Analysis Data Sheet.

NOTE:

Procedure N1-WHP-11 is intended to provide assistance to assure continuity of work; however, it is recognized that procedures cannot anticipate provisions for all eventualities.

If questions arise due to changing conditions or unforeseen problems the Rad Waste Coor-dinator should be consulted.
