1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The purpose of this procedure is to identify the steps required to provide support for the liquid waste solidification operation by Chem Nuclear Services, Inc. at the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 Nuclear Facility. Included herein are references, prerequisites, required radiation surveys, documents, permits and instructions and a copy of the CNSI Operating Procedures for Solidification.

2.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS None 3.0 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Refer to: Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. Operating Procedure for the CNSI Mobile Solidification System at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Facility (copy attached).

3.2 Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. Materials License No. 46-13536-01 Persuant to 10CFR30, 10CFR40 and 10CFR70.

4.0 PREREQUISITES 4.1 Schedule and arrival of CNSI Mobile Solidification Unit.

4.2 Cask located in Rad Waste Building and ready to receive waste according to the Cask Handling Procedure N1-WHP-3 and the Cask Loading Procedure N1-WHP-4.

l 4.3 RWP for the CNSI Solidification Operation 4.4 Place Do Not Operate tag on concentrator transfer control valve while solidification process is in progress.

4.5 Dosimeter issuance to CNSI operator.

4.6 RWP for Rad Waste Building Operation.

S.0 PROCEDURE FOR REQUIRED SUPPORT OF THE CNSI SOLIDIFICATION PROCESS 5.1 Operational Functions 5.1.1 Perform necessary service hookups such as 480 volt 70 amp electrical, 100 psi + 20 plant service air, and service water.

5.1.2 Perform required valving and valve lineups as necessary during es the solidification process according to the Cask Load Procedure N1-WHP-4.
