Dear Mr. Roisran:
With regard to our telephone discussion of December 13, 1973, concerning the Regulatory staff review of a modified General Electric fuel densi-fication model, this is to confirm my offer to you at that time to brief you and your associates concerning the underlying data provided to the staff on this subject and our evaluation of this inforation.
In that connection, there is enclosed material which includes all of the written data provided to us by General Electric Company to date in the course of our review of this modified model (including data claimed to be proprietary by the General Electric Company), with the exception of GE Reports NED0-20181 and NEDC-20181 Supplement 1 which I forwarded to

~you on December 13. This material supplements the infomation provided by my letters of October 5 and November 1, dealing with previous

submissions to the AEC concerning fuel densification in GE reactors.
There is also enclosed all documents, including internal memoranda, developed by the Regulatory staff and its contractors on the modified GE model, some of which also include data claimed to be proprietary by the General Electric Company. General Electric has agreed to make the proprietary data, discussed above, available to you under the conditions outlined in its letter to you of October 18, 1973. Action by the Regulatory staff on the requests received to withhold the data claimed to be proprietary has not yet been completed.

l Deleted from the internal documents are data claimed to be proprietary by companies other than the General Electric Company. Should you desire this data, I would be pleased to assist in obtaining the necessary protective agreements.
I am also enclosing copies of (1) the Regulatory staff's generic safety evaluation concerning the acceptability of the modified General Electric fuel densification model, and (ii) Regulatory staff's safety evaluations I
concerning fuel densification for Nine Mile Point, Unit 1, Dresden, Unit 2, and Oyster Creek and the attendant transmittal letters which i
were mailed today to the respective licensees.
The Regulatory staff's safety evaluation concerning the modified Exxon fuel densification model has been completed. However, the evaluation report is still being typed l
and reproduced. A copy will be' available Monday, December 17.
This letter is being mailed to you today; however, in accordance with your discussions with Mr. Joseph Gallo, the documents and enclosures
- referred to above will be delivered to you at 9:00 am Monday, December 17, 1973, rather than by messenger this evening or tomorrow morning.
Please let me know as soon as possible concerning the briefing.
