MODIFICATION TO REACTOR VESSEL WATER LEVEL INSTRUMENTATION -
GENERIC LETTER 92-04, " RESOLUTION OF THE ISSUES RELATED TO REACTOR VESSEL WATER LEVEL INSTRUMENTATION IN BWRs PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 50.54(F), DATED AUGUST 19,1992" AND NRC BULLETIN 93-03, " RESOLUTION OF ISSUES RELATED TO REACTOR VESSEL WATER LEVEL INSTRUMENTATION IN BWRs" (TAC NO. M86904)
In response to the staff's letter of September 20, 1993, regarding the implementation schedule related to the modification of the reactor vessel water level instrumentation, GPU Nuclear Corporation (GPUN) by letter dated September 22, 1993, provided a revised schedule for installing this modification.
4 GPUN stated that in order to meet NRC concerns, steps will be taken to accelerate the readiness of the modification and installation.
GPUN also committed to install the proposed modification during any unplanned cold shutdown after January 7, 1994, with an anticipated duration which exceeds the minimum installation time of 14 days.
GPUN further indicated that in any event, GPUN will make the modification during its planned outage scheduled to begin in September 1994.
The staff has considered GPUN's commitment and finds it acceptable.
