the Dresden Nuclear Power Station Unit 3 facility at steady state power levels not in excess of 2527 megawatts (thermal), except that Commonwealth Edison was not permitted to. operate the facility at power levels in excess of five megawatts (thermal) until satis-factory completion of the modifications and final testing of the station output transformer, the auto-depressurization interlock, and the feedwater system..
The Commission has riou inspected the facility and has found that the modifications and final testing.of the station output trans-former, the auto-doressurization interlock, and the feedwater system have been satisfactorily completed.

On June 19, 1971, tha AEC adopted interim acceptance criteria for the performanco of cuergency core cooling systems (ECCS) in. light water nucicar power plants.
In accordance with Section IV C.1(2) of the policy statement you are required to submit an analysis of the performance of the ECCS presently installed in the Dresden Unit 3 plant using methods equivalent to the evaluation model in Appendix A, Part 2 of the policy statement as soon as practicable, but not later, than October 1, 1971, to confirm that the performance of the ECCS is in compliance with the criteria of Sections IV A and B of the state-ment.
The specific information that we need regarding the ECCS-analysis for Dresden Unit 3 will be indicated in a separate letter.
