STABILIZATION OF STEAM GENERATOR INTERNAL AUXILIARY FEEDWATER HEADERS Item 4 of our May 21, 1982 letter to you ilidicated that NRC approval is required prior to you performing stabilization work on the steam generator internal headers. On June 8,1982 we received a telecopy of your preliminary " Description of Stabilization," and we have performed an interim evaluation of this description. Based upon
- 1) our interim review and 2) telephone discussions with members of your staff on June 9,1982, we conclude that you can proceed with the internal header stabilization as described, subject to approval by the Rancho Seco Plant Review Committee prior to initiation of the stabilization work.
We will be requesting additional information regarding documentation needed related to stabilization and other aspects of the repair work.
