liydrostatic Test Requirements for a By-Pass Line on the Main Steam Line In response to your letter of flay 27, 1982, your request to waive the hydro-static test requirements of Article IWC-5000 of ASME Section XI, following the repair of the by-pass line on the main steam line, is granted. Our Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed.
The 2-inch line and the new socket welds are to be tested at operating temper-ature and pressure prior to Sequoyah Unit 2 returning to service. The replace-ment weld areas shall be examined in accordance with Region II requirements.
Your request has been discussed with the NRC Sequoyah resident inspectors and they have no objections to deleting the hydrostatic test requirements for this particular repair.
