During a recent meeting at United Engineers & Constructors, Inc. between your representatives and the NRC Instrumentation and Control Systems Branch, the staff position on' remote shutdown capability was discussed.
Your representatives requested that the NRC fomally provide the subject position in order to better understand staff interests and to aid in further design considerations ~. Enclosed is the ICSB position. The Seabrook Project Manager (Mr. Louis Wheeler, (301) 492-7792) is available to provide additional information if it is necessary, or to arrange meetings if you believe they would be helpful to the OL review now in progress.
