Dear Mr. Fiedler:

SUBJECT:

SYSTEMATIC EVALUATION PROGRAM (SEP) FOR THE OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - EVALUATION REPORT ON TOPICS VI-2.0 AND VI-3 By letter dated December 10, 1981, you were sent a copy of our draft evaluation of SEP Topics VI-2.D, " Mass and Energy Release for Possible Pipe Break Inside Containment," and VI-3, " Containment Pressure and Heat Removal Capability." That evaluation compared your facility, as described in Docket No. 50-219 with the criteria currently used by the regulatory staff for licensing new facilities. Also, included in that letter was a request that you inform us if your as-built facility differed from the licensing basis assumed in our assessment and comments were requested within 30 days of the receipt of that letter so that they could be considered in our final evaluation. Since no comments have been received we have concluded that our draft evaluation was factually M

correct, therefore, we now consider it final.

bs That evaluation will be a basic input to bhe integrated safety assess-

/ /

ment for your facility. That assessment may be revised in the future gE[St) if your facility design is changed or if NRC criteria relating to this p subject are modified before the integrcted assessment is completed.

ADW.

Sincerely,

2. b Dennis M. Crutchfield, Chief Operating Reactors Branch No. 5 Division of Licensing cc: See next page 8205060295 820430 AD:,A:DL PDR ADOCK 05000219 GL 'nas P
