Report No. 70-1113/82-03 This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. H. Miller, Jr.
of this office on February 16-17, 1982, of activities authorized by NRC License No. SNM-1097 for the Wilmington Manufacturing Company facility. Our preliminary findings were discussed with Mr. C. M. Vaughn, Manager, Licensing and Compliance Audits, at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection included fire protection / prevention.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
During the inspection, it was found that certain activities under your license appear to violate NRC requirements.
This item and. references to pertinent requirements are listed in the Notice of Violation enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
Elements to be included in your response are delineated in Appendix A.
I Three new unresolved items are identified in the enclosed inspection report.
These items will be examined during subsequent inspections.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the date of-this letter. Such application mast be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1).
The responses directed by this letter and the enclosures are not subject to the clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Redt: tion Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
