Combined Inspection Nos. 50-277/81-26 and 50-278/81-29
This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. G. C. Smith
of this office on October 15-16 and 19-23, 1981, at Peach Bottom Atomic Power
Station, Units 2 and 3, Delta, Pennsylvania, of activities authorized by NRC
License Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56, and to the discussions of our findings held by
Mr. Smith with Mr. W. T. Ullrich of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Office of
Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with this
letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations
of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, ano
observations by the inspectors.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct the items of
noncompliance brought to your attention in letters dated March 29, 1981, July
1, 1981, and October 15, 1981. We have no further questions regarding your
action at this time.
Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 of the NRC's regulations, documentation of
security measures for the physical protection of special nuclear materials and
certain plant equipment vital to the safety of production or utilization
facilities are deemed to be Safeguards Information.
Each person who produces,
receives or acquires Safeguards Information is required to ensure that it is
protected against unauthorized disclosure.
Therefore, except for the report
cover sheet, the enclosed inspection report will not be placed in the Public
Document Room and will receive limited (istribution.
