REQUEST FOR OFFICE COMMENTS - PROPOSED NEW RULE ENTITLED, " NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ACQUISITION REGULATION (NRCAR)"

Attached for your review and comment is the draft Nuclear Regulatory Commission Acquisition Regulation (NRCAR) which will supplement the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and specify those agency policies, procedures, l

contract clauses and solicitation provisions governing the contract l

process. We plan to publish the NRCAR in the Federal Register as a new rule for public comment by September 30, 1989.

This rulemaking is' required by Public Law 98-577 and the Federal Acquisition Regulation-Part 1.303.

The proposed policies end procedures are' consistent with those currently in practice within the agency.

No additional requirements are placed on NRC offices or contractors as a result of this rulemaking process.

Please provide your written comments directly to Mr. Edward L. Halman, Director, Division of Contracts and Property Management, Mail Stop P-1114 on or before April 21, 1989.
