This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. H. F. Bundy of this office

during the period April 23-27, 1990, of activities authorized by NRC Operating

.

License NPF-42 for the-Wolf Creek Generating Station, and to the discussion of

our findings with Mr. B. D. Withers and other members of your staff at the

conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included your programmed enhancements in

response to Generic Letter 88-17 (Loss of Decay Heat Removal), and independent

'

measurement of reactor coolant system leak rate. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector. The

inspection findings are_ documented in the enclosed inspection report.

Within the scope of the inspection, no violations or devictions were

identified.

We have also examined actions you have taken with regard to a previously

identified inspection finding. The status of this item is identified in.

paragraph 2 of the enclosed report.
