Fay Telephone 414/277-2811 Unit 1 operated at 390 MWe throughout the period with two load reductions.

On April 2, 1981, at 0316 hours0.00366 days 0.0878 hours 5.224868e-4 weeks 1.20238e-4 months , Unit 1 power was reduced to 369 MWe as directed by the Power System Supervisor and returned to 392 MWe at 0445 hours0.00515 days 0.124 hours 7.357804e-4 weeks 1.693225e-4 months .

At 0107 hours0.00124 days 0.0297 hours 1.76918e-4 weeks 4.07135e-5 months on April 19, 1981, power was reduced to 290 MWe for turbine stop valve testing.

The unit was returned to full load at 0240 hours0.00278 days 0.0667 hours 3.968254e-4 weeks 9.132e-5 months on the same day.

Safety-related maintenance during the period was performed on the 3D Diesel on April 8, 1981.

The Diesel was returned to service the sane day.

At 0345 hours0.00399 days 0.0958 hours 5.704365e-4 weeks 1.312725e-4 months on April 25, 19 81, while conducting quarterly inservice testing of containment spray valves (I T-50 ), spray valve 1-860D (containment spray pump discharge valve) failed to open.

The redundant valve was tested a

satisfactorily, as were duplicate function valves in the "A"

train.

This event is reportable under Technical Specifi-cation 15.6.9.2.B.2. as a condition leading to operation in a degraded mode permitted by a limited condition of operation.

The closing torque switch for 1-860D was adjusted, the valve was retested and returned to service at 0803 hours0.00929 days 0.223 hours 0.00133 weeks 3.055415e-4 months , April 25, 1981.

This occurrence will be filed under Licensee Event Report No. 81-004/03L-0, Unit 1.

At 0132 hours0.00153 days 0.0367 hours 2.18254e-4 weeks 5.0226e-5 months on April 17, 1981, Unit 2 was taken off line for refueling.

Reactor shutdown was completed the same day at 1655 hours0.0192 days 0.46 hours 0.00274 weeks 6.297275e-4 months following end-of-life physics testing and training startups.

Cooldown and draindown of the reactor coolant system was completed by 0052 hours6.018519e-4 days 0.0144 hours 8.597884e-5 weeks 1.9786e-5 months on April 19, 1981.

Eddy current inspections of both generators were completed on April 24, 1981.

Twen ty-five (25) tubes in the "A"

steam generator and 16 tubes in the "B"

steam generator were verified to have degradations greater than 40% and were plugged.

This is reportable in accordance with Technical Specification 15.6.9. 2. A. 3 as an abnormal degradation in a reactor coolant pressure boundary.

The report will be filed as Licensee Event Report No. Sl-002/0lT-0, Unit 2.

.a Maintenance work included seal replacement for both reactor coolant pumps, reactor vessel head stripping, fire protection modifications, and turbine overhaul.
