Re: Cooper Nuclear Power Station We have initiated a substantial effort to bring current our approvals of inservice inspection relief requests. The purpose of this letter is to ensure that the infomation we are supplying to our contractors for review v is current and reflects the latest requirements for your facility.

For the Cooper Nuclear Power Station our review will include your previous submittals identified in the enclosure.

Any earlier submittals on the subject of the ISI Program will be considered obsolete.

Based on your submittals, the inspection interval for this facility is Novenber 1,1977 to March 1,1981. We will be conducting the review against the requirenents of the 1974 edition of Section XI of the ASME Code up to and including the S-75 Addenda.

You requested extending the inspection interval from November 1,1977 to l

March 1,1981. The November 1,1979 regulation pemits extension of the l

testing interval from November 1,1977 to July 1,1984. We are granting you the extension permitted by the regulation and will assume this is acceptable unless we hear otherwise.

1 Please determine if there are any additional previous submittals that we should be reviewing. Also, if there are any additional requests for relief that should be considered for the inspection interval, please submit these requests within thirty days.

. Note that such requests should deal with only the inservice inspection J of pressure-bearing components including supports and with system pressure tests. The inservice testing of pumps and valves is being treated separately and you will receive information regarding it by separate correspondence.
