By letters dated July 29,1977, March 23,1978, July 18,1978, December 18,

revisions, and additional infonnation related to requests for relief from certain Code inspection requirements pursuant to 10 CRI 50.55a(g).

of your relief requests and to grant relief in part frou the requirements of Section XI of the American Socie ty of Mechanice' Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (the Code) or impose other requirements, as appropriate.
The review of requests for relief from the ir, service inspection require-ment, has been completed. Based on the results of this rqview, the staff has detemined there are cases in which the relief is granted as requested.
In o ther cases, the relief requested is granted conditionall y, the conditions being clearly stated in the summary tables in the Safety Evaluation. One relief request was not granted because the component was alread, exempt under the regulation (relief therefore was not required).

of a 120-month interval and it is requested that any requests for relief o<

modified as described terein and by any further relief granted or additional inspection imposed during the remainder of the period. Any relief from Code requirements granted herein expires on July 1,1984.
The enclosed Safety Evaluation delineates those items for which relief has been granted and alternate schedules and procedures defined. The staff has determined that where stated the Ccde requirements are imprac-tical, the granting of this relief is authorized by law and will not endanger life or property or the common defense and security, and is otherwise in the public interest considering the burden that could result if they were imposed on your facility.
Your Technical Specifications currently do not incorporate provisions for allowing relief granted from inservice inspection pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g),
Therefore, within 30 day: of receipt of this letter you should submit Techni-cal Specifications which incorporate appropriate changes to account for the relief requests granted.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents, therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P. L.96-511.
Also enclosed is a copy of the Notice of Granting of Relief which is being filed with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
Sincerely, ORIG 18AL 318 Domenic B. Vassallo, Chief Operating Reactors Branch f2 Division of Licensing
