o w-i APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Philadelphia Electric Company Docket No. 50-277 Peach Bottom Unit 2 License No. DPR-44 During inspection from November 17 - December 31,1981 and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45FR66754 (October 7,1980), the following violation was identified.
Technical Specification 3.2.A and Table 3.2.A require, when primary contain-ment integrity is required, that at least two Main Steam Line Leak Detection High Temperature instrument channels be operable in each Primary Containment Isolation trip system, with trip level settings less than or equal to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Contrary to the above, from about 8:00 p.m. until about 8:20 p.m. on December 5,1981, with primary containment integrity required, the Hain Steam Line Leak Detection High Temperature trip setpoints were set at 250 degrees Fahrenheit on both channels in both trip systems.
This is a Severity Level III Violation (Supplement I).
Pursuant to 10 CFR 2.201, Philadelphia Electric Company is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or exp.anation in reply including the corrective steps which have been taken and results achieved; corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and the date when full compliance will be achieved. Under the authority of Section 182 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, this response shall be submitted under oath or affirmation. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to ex-tending the response time.
