This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by !!r. P. K. VanDoorn of
this office on flovember 26 - December 25, 1981, of activities authorized by flRC
Construction Permit flos. CPPR-116 and CPPR-117 for the Catawba facility and to
the discussion of our findings held with fir. T. H. Robertson, Construction
Engineer, at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were disclosed.
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported
unresolved items. The status of these items is discussed in the enclosed
inspection report.
Two new unresolved items resulted from this inspection and are discussed in the
enclosed report.
These items will be examined during subsequent inspections.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures will
be placed in the flRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by
telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written
application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the
date of this letter.
Such application must be consistent with the requirenents
of 2.790(b)(1).
Should you have any questions concerning this letter, we will be glad to discuss
them with you.
