Subject: Combined Investigation No. 50-219/80-38 and 50-213/80-20
This refers to the investigation conducted by Mr. R. Smith of this office
from October 6, 1980 to January 14, 1981, of the circumstances surrounding
the transportation and use of the Model No. NFS-4 Serial No. NAC-lE cask
that arrived at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station on July 23, 1930.
Areas examined during this investigation tre described in the Offite of
Inspection and Enforcement Investigation Report whien is enclosed with this
letter.
Within the scope of this investigation, no items of noncompliance were
observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a?, a copy of this letter and the
enclosure (s) will be placed in the NRC Public Documen'. Room unless
you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of
this letter and submit written application to withhold information
contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter.
Such
application must be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1).
No reply to this letter is required; however, should you have any questions
concerning this investigation, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
