This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by ftr. D. F. Johnson of
this office on October 15 - Novencer 15, 1981, of activities authorized by NRC
Operating License Nos. DPR-71 and DPR-62 for the Brunswick facility.
Our pre-
liminary findings were discussed with Mr. C. R. Dietz, Plant flanager, at the
conclusion of the . inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
- During the inspection, it was found that certain activities under your license
appear to violate NRC requirements.
This item and references to pertinent
requirements are listed in the Notice of Violation enclosed herewith as
Appendix A.
Elements to be included in your response are delineated in
Appendix A.-
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported
unresolved items.
The' status of these items is discussed in the enclosed report.
One new unresolved item is identified in the enclosed inspection report. This
,
item will be examined during subsequent inspections.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure (s)
will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office,
by telephone. within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written
application to withhold infonnation contained therein within thirty days of the
date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements
of 2.790(b)(1).
