t E-t MATERIAL TRANSMITTED HEREW1TH CONT %NS 2 790'd) SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Virginia Electric & Power Company Docket Nos. 50-338 & 50-339 North Anna 1 and 2 License flos. NPF-4 & fiPF-7 As a result of the inspection conducted on July 3-15, 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7,1980), the following violation was identified.
Technical Specification Section 6.8.1.f requires written procedures to be established, implemented and maintained covering the fire protection program l
implementation. The licensee's Fire Protection Plan contains the procedures I
for implementing the site fire protection program.
Section 7.2.3 of the Fire Protection Plan requires at least one fire brigade drill to be held every 92 days for each brigade.
Contrary to the above, a fire brigade drill was not conducted each quarter during 1980 and 1981 for each brigade.
This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement I.E.).
A similar violation was brought to your attention in our letter dated March 12, 1981.
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) admission or denial of the alleged viola-tion; (2) the reasons for tN violation if admitted; (3) the corrective steps unsch have been taken and the results achieved; (4) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (5) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
Under the authority of Section 182 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, this respase shall be submitted under oath or affirmation.
