Subject: Meeting 50-293/&l-19
This refers to the meeting held on October 15, 1981, in the Region I Office,
King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, to discuss the NRC findings and concerns re-
garding the management control of safety related activities for the Pilgrim
tiuclear Fower Station. The meeting was conducted by Mr. R. C. Haynes the
Regional Administratcr, Region I, and was also attended by other menbers of the
Region I staff. As you are aware, Boston Edison Company was represented by
yourself, Messrs. Howard, l'achon and other members of your staff. The specific
items discussed at this meeting and the meeting results are described in the
Office of Inspection and Enforcement Meeting Report which is enclosed with this
letter.
Enforcement action regarding several events discussed will be fonvarded
to you under separate correspondence.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title
10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the
Public Document Room.
No reply to this letter is required, however, should you have any q
