These documents are being provided to you as a result of the telephone conversations with your office wnerein your original request was more clearly re-defined as to the documents you wanted.

In providing you with the enclosed documents, we have complied with your request that we do not include certain information such as communications volnerabilities, safe havens, and local law enforcement response capabilities, inasmuch as you have deemed these items to be outside the scope of your request.

Dear People:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 USC 552, I hereby request documents related to the transportation of special nuclear materials in the form of spent reactor fuel. Spent fuel routes were made availabic to the public domain as a result of a law by Congress.

I would like to receive copies of documents which indicate spent fuel routes approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission since "Public Information Circular for Shipments of Irradiated Reactor Fuel," DRAFT NUREG-0725 was issued by the N.R.C. in September 1980.

I do not wish to receive safeguarded information, such as exact dates and times of shipments,.;afe havens, specific security provisions, or telecommun-ications information.

I am making this request to expedite your response and am not relinquishing my right to appeal and request this information if it appears relevant after reviewing the conformed documents.

I also request that you waive fees 'or providing this information since the information requested "can be considered as primarily benefitting the general public." For more than three years our office has 1 a coordinating research in our work with citizens' groups and government officials.

If you have any questions regarding this request, please telephone me at the above number.

I appreciate your prompt consideration of this request and look forward to your response within 10 working days as stipulated by FOIA.
