On March 2, 1981, I received for concurrence Inspection Report Numbers 50-
277/S0-35 and 50-278/S0-28.
The associated Notice of Violation contains a citation for failure to comply
with 1.5. 6.13.
(Two individu,is were observed working in a high radiatica area
without a radiation monitoring device which continuously indicates the radiation
dose rate in the area.)- From the details, it a'ppears that the RWP required an
ion chari.ber under " Monitoring Required", apparently in order to satisfy the
requirements of T.S. 6.13.
However, since a pocket dosimeter is also an ion
chamber it is not possible to cite in this instance for failure to follow procad_ al
requirements (T.S. 6.31).
Regardless of the technicalities in this case, this seems to be still another
indicati-n that there appears to me to be a continuing problem of failure to
follow radiation protection procedure 3.
