Inspection No. 50-286/82-25
This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Fr. Thomas J. Kenny of
this office on December 16, 1982 to January 15, 1953 a Indian Point
Nuclear Generating Station Unit 3, Buchanan, New York, of activities
authorized by NRC License No. DPR-64, and to the discussions of our find-
ings held by our inspector with yourself and other members of your staff
at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas exanined during this inspection are described in the report enclosed
with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with per-
sonnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct a violation
brought to your attention in the enclosure to our letter dateri December 11,
1979. We have no further questions regarding your action at this time.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that one of your
activities was not coaducted in full corepliance with NRC requirements, as
set forth in tne Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
This violation has been categorized by severi+y level in accordance with
the NRC Enforcement policy (10 CFR, Appendix C) published in the Federal
Register Sotice (47 FR 9987) dated Farch 9,1982
This notice is sent to
you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of
Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Although
Section 2.201 requires you to sub:ait to this office, within 30 days of
your receipt of this notice, a written statement of explanation, we note
that this violation was corrected prior to the completion of our inspec-
tion, and therefore, no response with respect to this matter is required.
