DOCKET 50-528, 529, 530 PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
Dear Mr. Engelken:
Arizona Public Service Company intends to utilize the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station control room simulator for emergency preparedness ex-ercises in order to more realistically simulate actual conditions during an emergency event.
Two Emergency Notification System (ENS) hotline phones will be required, one in the control room simulator and the other in an adjacent area des-ignated as the Shift Supervisor's Office, in order to utilize the sim-ulator in this manner.
These two ENS hotline phones will be in addition to those stated in my February 8,1982 letter to you, which is attached.
Representatives of Arizona Public Service Company discussed adding two ENS phones to the control room simulator with Mr. Ken Scown of Inspection and Enforcement during Mr. Scown's August 27, 1982 site visit and he was in agreement with this proposal.
Arizona Public Service Company confirmed Mr. Scown's agreement with the proposal in a telephone conversation between him and Mr. Todd Nishikawa held on September 22, 1982.
