hEMORANDUM FOR:
- 1. N. Jackiw, Chief, Tesh Program Section TROM:
C. E. Nor,elius, Director, Division of Engineering and Technical Programs
SUBJECT:
LASALLE INVESTICATION This is to confirm our plan for approaching and carrying out the investigation at LaSalle regarding the 2.206 request from the Illinois Attorney General and the related affidavits submitted to this office concerning concrete and rebar problems.
These matters were discussed in our meeting with A. B. Davis on May 10, 1982. In general, our planned approach is to (1) contact the allegers who had signed affidavits to get an understanding of their allegations and concerns; (2) conduct a tour of the plant site with the allegers to identify their particular areas of concern; (3) identify and document all the specific allegations which have been received as a result of Items 1 and 2 above; (4) obtain a decision by Region III Management as to the allegations which will be further pursued; (5) document the basis for any allegations not pursued; and (6) proceed with the investigation of the identified allegations.
Such investigation may involve review of documented work already performed as part of the NRC inspection program or additional onsite review of licensee procedures, interviews, or tests as necessary to resolve these matters.
