SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE ON LASALLE DRILLING INVESTIGATION This is to confirm a telephone conversation between C. E. Norelius, Region III, and T.
Ippolito, NRR, to request assistance in the conduct of our special inspection into Commonwealth Edison Company's program for controlling drilling activities at the LaSalle County Station.
Specifically, we request that you provide specialists to accompany Region III inspectors to Sargent and Lundy to determine'the adequacy of engineering judgements and conclusions regarding the impact of drilling activities on the integrity of plant structure.
In a related effort, we understand that the NRR staff is reviewing and evaluating the design documents and calculations provided by Commonwealth Edison and S&L during the March 31, 1982 meeting.
