DEFICIENCIES IN WELDED STUDS ON EMBEDDED STRIP PLATES ADDENDUM NO. 2 TO FINAL REPORT - ITEM 71
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Attached is Addendum No. 2 to the Final 10CFR50.55(e) Report issued to the NRC on March 19, 1982 for the above subject deficiency. This addendum shows all the shipments of embede (Type II strip plates and crane rail plates) and any associated problems. Please attach this addendum to the March 19, 1982 Final Report.

.j SHEARON HARRIS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT UNIT NO.' 1 DEFICIENCIES IN WELDED STUDS ON EMBEDDED STRIP PLATES ADDENDUM NO. 2 TO FINAL REPORT ISSUED MARCH 19, 1982 October 5, 1982' In a September 17, 1982 exit by Mr. Jack Harris of your office, Item 400 CDR 82-071 was discussed in reference to what information would be required to close.it.- Mr.
-Harris stated that he would need to know the shipment dates for each shipment and the inspection provided for each shipment.
Mr. A. M. Lucas, Senior Resident Engi-neer, informed Mr. Harrist that receipt-inspection was performed on all shipments of embed plates per site procedures. When problems are discovered, corrective action is taken. Per a follow-up call on September 21, 1982 between Mr.'A. M.-Lucas and Mr. Tom Conlan, attached is a listing of shipments of embeds received from Alfab, Inc. and any associated problems.

at the base; it failed when bent to 30*.
One (1) stud on another plate was bent in the area of a repair weld revealing cracking.- DDR-840 was written. As a result of the failing stud, this was deemed reportable.
