The attached report of a routine, unannounced inspection conducted on
May 8 and 9, 1972, is forwarded for information.
No items of noncompliance were identified during this inspection.
Initial inspection of construction activities associated with the addi-
tional vaste gas hold-up system was performed by F. Dreher, Region III
Reactor Construction Inspector, and was completed as part of this inspection.
During the inspection, the inspector was informed of the failure of a
reserve transformer on May 1, 1972. The transformer was returned to
service on May 5 after a temporary replacement cable was spliced into the
circuit. A new cable is on order for permanent installation.
