Subject: NRC Inspection - Palo Verde Unit 1 (Preoperational Test Phase)
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. P. H. Johnson of this office on
May 3-6 and 10-13, 1983, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit
No. CPPR-141 and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. Johnson with
Mr. Bynum and other members of the Arizona Public Service Company staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection
report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, one of your activities appeared to
deviate from your commitment to the NRC, as set forth in the Notice of
Deviation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
Please respond to this notice as
requested in the Notice of Deviation.
