Page 2 of.2 SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION TO LER 83-046/03 L-0 Mississippi Power & Light Company Grand Gulf Nuclear Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 Technical Specification Involved: 3.3.7.8 Reported Under Technical Specification: 6.9.1.13.b Event Narrative:

On April 12, 1983, the surveillance schedulers realized that the monthly functional test for the Division 1 Chlorine Detection System had exceeded its late date of April 10, 1983. The cause was attributed to personnel error.

'A maintenance work order on the Division II Chlorine Detection System was being worked at the time that the Division I surveillance was due, and the I&C surveillance schedulers thought that the functional retest for this work would include a functional retest on the Division I detectors. This was incorrect and it was realized upon completion of the work. At this time, the surveillance was overdue and was immediately rescheduled. This is an isolated case and recurrence is considered unlikely. The schedulers caught their own mistake, therefore, we feel further instruction is not required. This is a final report.
