Leddick Program Director, WNP-3/5 Gentlemen: Subject: NRC Inspection at Washington Nuclear Project No. 3 (WNP-3) This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. D. P. Haist and J. F. Burdoin of this office on March 14-17, 1983, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-154, and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. Haist with Mr. O. E. Trapp and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector. Based on the results of this inspection, one of your activities appeared to deviate from your commitments to the NRC, as set forth in the Notice of Deviation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A. Your response to this notice is to be submitted in accordance with the provisions as stated in Appendix A, Notice of Deviation. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold ifnormation contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter.
