Grand Gulf Nuclear Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 Technical Specification involvtd: 3.5.2

- Reported Under Technical Specification: 6.9.1.13.b Event Narrative:

On March 29, 1983, while in Cold Shutdown, a Division I Load Shedding and Sequencing panel failure alarm actuated. Upon investigation'it was determined that power was available.to the panel, however, some indicating lights were off. A subsequent maintenance investigation found the internal 15V DC power supply failed. The power supply powers solid state circuits for system logic and timing functions. The power supply was replaced and LSS Division I was restored on April 9, 1983.

During the event, an LCO was entered under T.S.3.5.2 due to LPCI C being the only operable ECCS system. Division I (D/G 11, LPCI A, and LPCS) was declared inoperable due to inoperability of LSS Division I.

HPCS was inoperable due to maintenance being performed on the HPCS and D/G 13 systems. LPCI B was inoperable due to the SSW B system being down for maintenance. This is submitted as a final report.
