REACTOR VESSEL MATERIALS" (TAC NO. 71494)
GenericLetter(GL)88-11."RadiationEmbrittlementofReactorVessel Materials," was issued July 12, 1988.
It requires that Regulatory Guide 1.99, RetIsion 2, be used in calculating the nil-ductility reference temperature of reactor vessel beltline materials. This reference temperature is then used to determine the pressure-temperature limits for the reactor vessel.
By letter dated June 30, 1989, you responded to the GL for the James A.
FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant. The submittal contained new reactor vessel pressure-temperature limit curves which you stated were based on Revision 2 of j
We have reviewed your submittal with the assistance of our contractor, EG&G Idaho, Inc. Based on our evaluation, we conclude that the proposed pressure-temperature limit curves for heatu), cooldown, leak testing and criticality of the reactor coolant system w11ch you submitted are acceptable.
Our safety evaluation which addresses this conclusion is Enclosure 1.
The amendment which incorporates these curves is being processed, as proposed in your letter dated January 12, 1990 (JPN-90-007).
